Getting married is a great step to take and involves a certain amount of paperwork that needs to be fulfilled for a smooth journey, with no bumps along the way. We’ll guide you through everything you may need beforehand.
As you’re planning to book one of the many wedding reception halls in Kandy, you may need to pay attention to the legal side of things. The choice of wedding ceremony is completely up to you and your significant other, however, you can only have a Buddhist ceremony or a civil service in a garden in Sri Lanka, not a formal Christian wedding ceremony. You can opt for a non-denominational civil service and/or a vibrant ‘Poruwa’ ceremony, which can be tailored in any way. Except for Sundays and bank holidays, weddings can be conducted for a couple over 18 years of age, parental consent is essential for couples under the age of 21.
